Everyday Heroes
The concept of an Everyday Hero has grown out of the desire to host an event that relates to the mission of the American Red Cross -- teaching people to save lives. The Red Cross provides relief to victims of disasters, and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. This is done through the simple yet powerful process of one person putting his or her needs aside to help another. Across the nation, over one million Red Cross volunteers do this each day. What better way to celebrate this spirit of humanitarianism than by honoring those individuals who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character?!
Awards will be given in ten hero categories: Education, Fire Fighter, Everyday Hero, Youth Good Samaritan, Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services,
, and(select category for nomination criteria). An Everyday Hero selection committee comprised of community leaders will select the winners.
Please let us know who you think should receive one of the above awards and why they qualify for nomination. Award nomination forms are available online or can be requested by mail.
